Andy Barr (R-KY-6) chairs the Financial Institutions Subcommittee and represents Kentucky's Bluegrass horse country, serving his seventh term.
Garland Hale 'Andy' Barr IV is the U.S. Representative for Kentucky's 6th Congressional District, a Republican first elected in 2012 and serving his seventh term. A graduate of the University of Virginia and the University of Kentucky College of Law, Barr practiced law in Lexington and worked as deputy general counsel to Governor Ernie Fletcher before entering Congress. He represents a central Kentucky district including Lexington and the surrounding Bluegrass horse country. In the 119th Congress, he serves on the House Financial Services Committee and chairs the Financial Institutions and Monetary Policy Subcommittee, which oversees federal banking regulators. He also serves on the Foreign Affairs Committee and focuses on banking regulation, the horse industry, coal, and U.S.-China relations.
