Angie Craig is a Democratic U.S. Representative from Minnesota's 2nd District, a former medical device executive and openly lesbian mother representing Twin Cities southern suburbs.
Angie Craig is the U.S. Representative for Minnesota's 2nd Congressional District, a Democrat first elected in 2018 and currently serving her fourth term. She represents a suburban Twin Cities district covering parts of Dakota, Scott, Rice, and Goodhue counties. A University of Memphis graduate, Craig worked as a newspaper reporter in Arkansas and Mississippi and for two decades as a senior executive in the medical device industry at St. Jude Medical, rising to head of global human resources. She is one of the first openly lesbian mothers in Congress. In the 119th Congress, she serves on the House Energy and Commerce Committee with assignments to Health, and Communications and Technology subcommittees. As the leading Democrat on the House Agriculture Committee, her priorities include prescription drug affordability, agriculture, ethanol production, and rural economic development.
