Republican U.S. Representative from Texas's 36th District since 2015; dentist and chair of House Science, Space and Technology Committee.
Brian Babin is the U.S. Representative for Texas's 36th Congressional District, a Republican first elected in 2014 and serving his sixth term. A Lamar University graduate and University of Texas Dental Branch alumnus, Babin practiced as a dentist in Woodville and served as mayor of Woodville. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1975 to 1979. Babin represents a district covering southeast Texas including the eastern Houston exurbs, Beaumont's northern suburbs, and the Piney Woods up to the Louisiana border. He chairs the House Science, Space and Technology Committee and focuses on NASA and Johnson Space Center, which is located in his district, as well as energy and conservative social policy. He won reelection in 2024 and advanced from the 2026 Republican primary.
