Brittany Pettersen is a Democratic U.S. Representative from Colorado's 7th District and Vice Ranking Member of the Financial Services Subcommittee on National Security.
Brittany Pettersen is the U.S. Representative for Colorado's 7th Congressional District, a Democrat first elected in 2022 and currently serving her second term. A graduate of Metropolitan State University of Denver, Pettersen worked as a community organizer and served in both chambers of the Colorado General Assembly, rising to chair the state Senate Health and Human Services Committee. Her mother's long struggle with opioid addiction has shaped her legislative work on substance use disorder policy and recovery support. In the 119th Congress, Pettersen serves on the Financial Services Committee, where she chairs the Subcommittee on Housing and Insurance and serves as Vice Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on National Security, Illicit Finance, and International Financial Institutions. She also serves on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. Her legislative priorities include addiction and recovery services, maternal and child health, housing affordability and development, and financial consumer protection. Pettersen is a recognized Democratic voice on addiction policy and working family economic issues.
