Biography

Chuck Fleischmann is a Republican U.S. Representative from Tennessee's 3rd District and chair of the House Appropriations Energy and Water Subcommittee.

Charles Joseph Fleischmann represents Tennessee's 3rd Congressional District, a Republican first elected in 2010 serving his eighth term covering southeastern Tennessee including Chattanooga, Oak Ridge, and the Cherokee National Forest. A graduate of the University of Illinois and University of Tennessee College of Law, Fleischmann practiced law in Chattanooga before his congressional election. In the 119th Congress, he was named chairman of the Appropriations Committee's Energy and Water Development Subcommittee and serves on that committee's Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies subcommittee. He also serves on Science, Space, and Technology (Energy subcommittee). His chairmanship oversees Oak Ridge National Laboratory and the Y-12 National Security Complex in his district. He focuses on nuclear energy and national security.
