Danny K. Davis is the U.S. Representative for Illinois's 7th Congressional District, serving his fifteenth term since 1996. Born in Parkdale, Arkansas, he graduated from Arkansas AM&N College and Chicago State University and earned a doctorate from the Union Institute. Davis worked as a teacher and community organizer before serving on the Chicago City Council and Cook County Board of Commissioners. A senior member of the House Ways and Means Committee, he serves on the Health and Work and Welfare subcommittees (where he is ranking member).
