Darin LaHood represents Illinois's 16th District as a Republican, former federal prosecutor and state senator serving on Ways and Means and Intelligence committees.
Darin McKay LaHood is the U.S. Representative for Illinois's 16th Congressional District, serving his sixth term since a 2015 special election. Son of former Transportation Secretary and Representative Ray LaHood, he graduated from Loyola University Chicago and John Marshall Law School and worked as a federal prosecutor in the Central District of Illinois and as an Illinois state senator. In the 119th Congress, LaHood serves on the House Ways and Means Committee (where he chairs the Work and Welfare Subcommittee) and the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (Central Intelligence Agency and National Intelligence Enterprise subcommittees). He also serves on the Select Committee on Strategic Competition Between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party, focusing on tax policy, manufacturing competitiveness, and national security.
