Biography

David Kustoff is a Republican from Tennessee's 8th District, former U.S. Attorney serving in his fifth term representing rural west Tennessee and Memphis suburbs.

David Frank Kustoff is the U.S. Representative for Tennessee's 8th Congressional District, a Republican first elected in 2016 serving his fifth term. Born and raised in Shelby County, Kustoff received his undergraduate degree from the University of Memphis and his law degree from the university's Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law in 1992. He practiced law in Memphis before President George W. Bush nominated him in 2006 as U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Tennessee, a position confirmed by the Senate. His district covers rural west Tennessee and portions of suburban Memphis with nearly 767,000 residents. Kustoff serves on the House Ways and Means Committee, the chief tax-writing committee, focusing on tax policy, agriculture, and economic development.
