David Cheston Rouzer represents North Carolina's 7th Congressional District, a Republican first elected in 2014 and serving his sixth term. A North Carolina State University graduate, Rouzer worked as a senior congressional staffer for Senators Jesse Helms and Elizabeth Dole and served as an appointee at the U.S. Department of Agriculture during the George W. Bush administration. He previously served in the North Carolina Senate. Rouzer chairs the House Transportation and Infrastructure Subcommittee on Railroads, Pipelines, and Hazardous Materials and sits on the Agriculture and Science, Space, and Technology committees, focusing on coastal infrastructure, flood control, agriculture, and rail transportation.
