Deborah Ross is a Democratic U.S. Representative from North Carolina's 2nd District and civil liberties attorney.
Deborah K. Ross is the U.S. Representative for North Carolina's 2nd Congressional District, a Democrat first elected in 2020 serving her third term representing much of Wake County including Raleigh. A graduate of Brown University and the University of North Carolina School of Law, Ross served as executive director of the North Carolina ACLU before winning election to the state House of Representatives, where she served for ten years. She was the 2016 Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate against Richard Burr. In the 119th Congress, Ross serves on the House Judiciary Committee with subcommittee assignments on Immigration Integrity, Security, and Enforcement and Courts, Intellectual Property, Artificial Intelligence, and the Internet, and on the House Science, Space and Technology Committee. She also serves as Chief Deputy Whip on the House Democratic leadership team. She focuses on voting rights, reproductive rights, intellectual property law, and technology sector growth.
