Erin Houchin (R-IN-9) is an Indiana state senator and former federal agency official serving her second term in the House.
Erin Elizabeth Houchin is the U.S. Representative for Indiana's 9th Congressional District, a Republican first elected in 2022 and serving her second term. A graduate of Indiana University, Houchin worked for former Senator Dan Coats and a Department of Agriculture rural development office before serving in the Indiana State Senate. She represents a southern Indiana district including Bloomington, Jeffersonville, and Ohio River communities. In the 119th Congress, she serves on the House Rules Committee, the Budget Committee, the Energy and Commerce Committee, and the Education and Workforce Committee, prioritizing school choice, rural communities, substance abuse prevention, and conservative fiscal policy.
