Harriet Hageman is a Republican U.S. Representative from Wyoming's at-large district, an attorney specializing in natural resources law.
Harriet M. Hageman was born in 1962 in Douglas, Wyoming, and earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Wyoming in 1986 and a law degree from the University of Wyoming College of Law in 1989. Her first position was as a clerk for United States Appellate Court Judge James E. Barrett for the Tenth Judicial Circuit. She practiced natural resources and water law in Cheyenne for decades, specializing in challenges to federal land and environmental regulations, working on interstate water disputes, environmental litigation, property rights, and grazing issues. She gained national attention when she defeated incumbent Liz Cheney in the 2022 Republican primary after Cheney served as vice chair of the House January 6 Committee and voted to impeach President Trump. Now serving her second term, she represents all of Wyoming as the state's at-large congressional representative. She sits on the House Judiciary and Natural Resources committees and focuses on public lands, energy production, and conservative legal policy.
