Jacky Rosen is Nevada's junior Democratic senator and a former software developer and synagogue president, serving her second term focused on veterans, cybersecurity, and renewable energy.
Jacklyn Sheryl Rosen is the junior U.S. Senator from Nevada, a Democrat first elected in 2018 by defeating Republican Dean Heller and re-elected in 2024. Born in Chicago and raised in a working-class family, Rosen earned a computer science degree from Oregon State and worked as a software developer and systems programmer in Las Vegas. She served as president of Congregation Ner Tamid, one of Nevada's largest synagogues, before entering political life. She served one term in the U.S. House representing Nevada's 3rd District before winning her Senate seat. In the 119th Congress, Rosen serves on Commerce, Science, and Transportation; Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions; Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs; Small Business; and Foreign Relations committees. She was appointed to Foreign Relations in 2025 and named ranking member of the Foreign Relations Subcommittee on Near East, South Asia, Central Asia, and Counterterrorism. She has focused on veterans' health, antisemitism and support for Israel, cybersecurity and workforce development, renewable energy, and Nevada's tourism industry.
