Jake Ellzey is a Republican from Texas's 6th District, a retired Navy fighter pilot and former Texas legislator serving in his second full term.
John Kevin Ellzey Sr. is the U.S. Representative for Texas's 6th Congressional District, a Republican who won a July 2021 special election following Ron Wright's death and is serving his second full term. A 1992 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, Ellzey served 20 years in the U.S. Navy as a helicopter pilot and later as a fighter pilot flying F-14 and F/A-18 aircraft. He completed nine deployments including five combat tours in Afghanistan and Iraq, serving a ground tour with SEAL Team 5, and concluded his military career as Air Boss aboard the USS Ronald Reagan. After military service, Ellzey worked as a military contractor in Afghanistan, commercial airline pilot, and small business owner. He served in the Texas House from January to July 2021 and on the Texas Veterans Commission. His district covers Ellis, Navarro, and Tarrant counties in the Dallas-Fort Worth exurbs. Ellzey sits on the House Appropriations Committee, focusing on aerospace, veterans, and defense.
