Jared Moskowitz is a Democratic U.S. Representative from Florida's 23rd District, a former emergency management director representing Broward County.
Jared Evan Moskowitz is the U.S. Representative for Florida's 23rd Congressional District, a Democrat first elected in 2022 and currently serving his second term representing a Broward County district including Coral Springs, Parkland, and western Fort Lauderdale suburbs. A Parkland native and graduate of George Washington University with a B.A. and Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law with a J.D., Moskowitz was elected to the Parkland City Commission at age 25 while still in law school, serving from 2006 to 2012. He was elected to the Florida House of Representatives and then appointed director of the Florida Division of Emergency Management by Governor Ron DeSantis in December 2018, where he managed Florida's response to Hurricane Michael, multiple hurricanes, and the COVID-19 pandemic, overseeing distribution of personal protective equipment, vaccines, and testing supplies. In the 119th Congress, Moskowitz serves as Ranking Member of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Oversight and Intelligence and on the Committee on the Judiciary, focusing on disaster response, U.S.-Israel relations, gun safety, and government accountability.
