Jodey Cook Arrington is the U.S. Representative for Texas's 19th Congressional District, a Republican serving since 2017. Born in Plainview, Texas, Arrington holds bachelor's and master's degrees from Texas Tech University. Before his 2016 election, he served in the George W. Bush administration as a senior advisor and chief of staff to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, and worked as a senior administrator at Texas Tech University System. He represents a vast west Texas district including Lubbock, Abilene, and much of the Panhandle. As chair of the House Budget Committee, Arrington has become a key voice on fiscal policy. He focuses on fiscal restraint, agriculture supporting rural Texas, and energy policy. In 2025, he announced he would not seek reelection.
