Biography

Johnny Olszewski Jr. is a first-term Democratic U.S. Representative from Maryland's 2nd District and former Baltimore County executive elected in 2024.

John Anthony 'Johnny' Olszewski Jr. represents Maryland's 2nd Congressional District, covering much of Baltimore County and parts of Carroll County, having been elected in 2024. A native of Dundalk and Goucher College graduate with a Ph.D. in public policy from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, Olszewski worked as an educator before serving in the Maryland House of Delegates. He was elected Baltimore County executive in 2018 and served two terms managing the county's operations and regional issues before succeeding longtime Representative Dutch Ruppersberger in Congress. In his first term, Olszewski serves on the Small Business and Foreign Affairs committees after earning a seat on the Democratic Steering and Policy Committee. His legislative focus centers on infrastructure development, manufacturing competitiveness, Port of Baltimore operations, and Chesapeake Bay restoration affecting his suburban district.
