U.S. Representative from TX, District 32

Democratic U.S. Representative from Texas's 32nd District since 2025; first openly LGBTQ+ person elected to Congress from the South.
Julie Johnson is the U.S. Representative for Texas's 32nd Congressional District, a Democrat elected in 2024 to succeed Colin Allred, who ran for U.S. Senate. She made historic history as the first openly LGBTQ+ person elected to Congress from any Southern state and the first woman to represent the 32nd District. A Baylor University graduate and University of Houston Law Center alumna, Johnson practiced law and served in the Texas House of Representatives for three terms. She won her 10-way primary without a runoff in March 2024 and the general election with over 60% of the vote. She represents a district covering portions of Dallas and its northern suburbs. Johnson focuses on healthcare, reproductive rights, LGBTQ+ rights, and suburban Democratic priorities.
