Biography

Lizzie Fletcher is a Democrat from Texas's 7th District, a labor law attorney serving in her fourth term representing western Houston and the Energy Corridor.

Elizabeth Ann Pannill Fletcher is the U.S. Representative for Texas's 7th Congressional District, a Democrat first elected in 2018 serving her fourth term. Born and raised in Texas, Fletcher graduated from Kenyon College in Ohio with honors in history and earned her law degree from William & Mary Law School in 2006. She practiced labor and employment law at a Houston firm representing workers and employers before her congressional election, where she defeated nine-term Republican incumbent John Culberson. Her district covers western Houston including the Energy Corridor and represents a significant swing toward Democrats in one of Texas's most historically conservative districts. Fletcher serves on the House Energy and Commerce Committee, one of the most powerful and sought-after committees, focusing on energy policy, healthcare, and women's health issues affecting her Houston district.
