Mike Flood is a Republican U.S. Representative from Nebraska's 1st District, a former Nebraska Speaker of the Legislature and media executive.
Mike Flood represents Nebraska's 1st Congressional District as a Republican. A graduate of the University of Notre Dame and the University of Nebraska College of Law, Flood founded News Channel Nebraska, a network of regional broadcast stations, and has worked as a media executive. He served in the officially nonpartisan Nebraska Legislature, including as Speaker, the youngest in state history. Flood won a June 2022 special election to succeed Jeff Fortenberry, who resigned following a federal conviction. He represents Lincoln and much of eastern Nebraska and serves on the Financial Services committee, focusing on agriculture, broadcasting and telecommunications policy, and rural economic issues.
