Mike Kennedy is a Republican U.S. Representative from Utah's 3rd District elected in 2024, a physician and former state senator.
Mike Kennedy is a physician and attorney representing Utah's 3rd Congressional District following his 2024 election. Born and raised in Utah County, Kennedy earned a bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University and an M.D. from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine in 1998. He also obtained a J.D. from Brigham Young University's J. Reuben Clark School of Law in 2007. Currently practicing family medicine in Lindon, Kennedy previously served in the Utah House of Representatives from 2013 to 2019 and the Utah State Senate from 2021 to 2025. He was an unsuccessful candidate for the U.S. Senate in 2018. His 2024 congressional victory came after winning a crowded Republican primary with 39 percent of the vote in a field of five candidates. Kennedy represents a district covering Utah County including Provo and Brigham Young University, plus portions of southeastern Utah, and prioritizes healthcare policy, education, and conservative fiscal principles.
