Mike Quigley represents Illinois's 5th District as a Democrat and senior member of the House Appropriations and Intelligence committees, known for expertise on Ukraine policy, civil liberties, and environmental protection.
Michael Bruce Quigley is the U.S. Representative for Illinois's 5th Congressional District, serving his ninth term since winning a 2009 special election to succeed Rahm Emanuel. A Roosevelt University and University of Chicago graduate with a law degree from Loyola University Chicago, Quigley served as a Cook County commissioner for ten years before entering Congress. He sits on the House Appropriations Committee (Legislative Branch, State and Related Programs, and Transportation subcommittees) and the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (Defense Intelligence subcommittee), where he has been a leading voice on Ukraine assistance, digital privacy rights, wildlife conservation, and Lake Michigan environmental issues.
