Michael Dennis Rogers serves Alabama's 3rd Congressional District and chairs the House Armed Services Committee in the 119th Congress, the principal panel overseeing the Department of Defense and U.S. military forces. An Anniston native who graduated from Jacksonville State University and the Birmingham School of Law, Rogers practiced law and served on the Calhoun County Commission and in the Alabama House of Representatives before his 2002 election to Congress, making him one of the chamber's most senior members. Rogers has focused extensively on deterring China, modernizing the U.S. nuclear triad, strengthening the Space Force, and advancing strategic shipbuilding. In his Armed Services Committee chairmanship, he has driven policy on military readiness and procurement priorities.
