Paul Gosar is an Arizona Republican dentist and eight-term congressman from the 9th District, a staunch fiscal and social conservative.
Paul Anthony Gosar has represented Arizona's 9th Congressional District as a Republican since 2011, currently serving his eighth term. A native of Rock Springs, Wyoming, Gosar earned his dentistry degree from Creighton University and practiced dentistry in Flagstaff, Arizona, for over 20 years before entering Congress. In the 119th Congress, he serves on the House Committee on Natural Resources and the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, with assignments to subcommittees on Energy and Mineral Resources, Oversight and Investigations, and Federal Law Enforcement. Gosar represents one of Arizona's most rural and conservative districts spanning much of the state's western reaches. Widely regarded as one of Congress's most conservative members, he has consistently advocated for limited federal government, Second Amendment protections, and border security. In 2021, he was censured by the House following controversy over an animated video he posted.
