Biography

Richard Hudson is a Republican U.S. Representative from North Carolina's 9th District and serves as chair of the National Republican Congressional Committee.

Richard Lane Hudson Jr. represents North Carolina's 9th Congressional District, a Republican first elected in 2012 and serving his seventh term. A University of North Carolina at Charlotte graduate, Hudson worked as chief of staff to multiple members of Congress before his own election. He chairs the National Republican Congressional Committee, placing him as the fifth-ranking member in House Republican leadership and the highest-ranking Republican member of Congress from North Carolina in history. Hudson serves on the Energy and Commerce Committee and focuses on military and veterans issues given his district's proximity to Fort Bragg, as well as energy policy and healthcare.
