Scott Peters is a Democratic U.S. Representative from California's 50th District serving on the Energy and Commerce Committee.
Scott H. Peters is the U.S. Representative for California's 50th Congressional District, a Democrat first elected in 2012 and currently serving his seventh term. A graduate of Duke University and New York University School of Law, Peters worked as an environmental attorney and served as the first president of the San Diego City Council before entering Congress. He also served as a commissioner of the San Diego Unified Port District. In the 119th Congress, Peters serves on the House Energy and Commerce Committee and the House Budget Committee, where he has championed historic legislation protecting the environment and advancing the clean energy transition. He co-chairs the Climate Solutions Caucus and remains an influential voice on energy policy, climate change, and budget issues.
