Shontel Brown is a Democratic U.S. Representative from Ohio's 11th District representing the Cleveland metropolitan area.
Shontel M. Brown is the U.S. Representative for Ohio's 11th Congressional District, a Democrat who won a special election in November 2021 to succeed Marcia Fudge, who became U.S. HUD Secretary. Brown previously served as a Cuyahoga County Council member and chair of the Cuyahoga County Democratic Party. In the 119th Congress, she serves as Vice Ranking Member on the House Agriculture Committee and serves on the Oversight and Reform Committee as Ranking Member on the Cybersecurity, Information Technology subcommittee. She also serves on the Select Committee on Strategic Competition with China, focusing on urban economic development and civil rights.
