Summer L. Lee is Pennsylvania's 12th District representative, a Democrat in her second term since 2022, making history as the first Black woman elected to Congress from Pennsylvania. A graduate of Penn State University and Howard University School of Law, Lee worked as a labor organizer before serving in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, bringing working-class advocacy to Congress. She represents Pittsburgh and surrounding Allegheny and Westmoreland counties. Associated with the progressive wing of the Democratic Party, she focuses on labor rights and environmental justice. In the 119th Congress, Lee serves on the Oversight and Government Reform Committee as Ranking Member of the Federal Law Enforcement Subcommittee and the Education and the Workforce Committee.
