Biography

Thomas Massie (R-KY-4) is an MIT engineer with libertarian-leaning convictions, serving his seventh term representing northern Kentucky.

Thomas Harold Massie is the U.S. Representative for Kentucky's 4th Congressional District, a Republican first elected in a 2012 special election and serving his seventh term. A graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with degrees in mechanical and electrical engineering, Massie founded a technology company based on MIT robotics research and served as Lewis County judge-executive before entering Congress. He represents a northern Kentucky district stretching from Cincinnati suburbs along the Ohio River. Known for independent voting and frequent dissent from his party on spending and surveillance matters, he focuses on constitutional limits on government, gun rights, agriculture, and fiscal restraint. In the 119th Congress, he serves on the Judiciary and Transportation and Infrastructure committees.
