United States Senator from MT

Tim Sheehy is a Republican Montana senator, former Navy SEAL, and aerial-firefighting company founder elected in 2024.
Timothy Sheehy serves as the junior U.S. Senator from Montana, a Republican sworn in January 2025 after defeating Democratic incumbent Jon Tester in the 2024 general election. A U.S. Naval Academy graduate, Sheehy served as a U.S. Navy SEAL officer with multiple combat deployments to Iraq, Afghanistan, and other theaters before settling in Montana and founding Bridger Aerospace, a company focused on wildfire suppression using specialized aircraft. In the 119th Congress, Sheehy serves on the Armed Services, Commerce Science and Transportation, and Veterans' Affairs committees. Drawing on his wildfire management expertise, he authored the Aerial Firefighting Enhancement Act of 2025, allowing private companies to acquire former military aircraft and parts for firefighting purposes, which was signed into law in June 2025. In April 2025, he introduced the Fix Our Forests Act alongside several colleagues to improve forest management. Sheehy campaigned on border security, energy production, and reducing federal regulations on Montana's ranching, timber, and mining industries.
