United States Senator from AL

Tommy Tuberville is Alabama's junior Republican senator and a former college football coach at Auburn, elected in 2020 and serving on Armed Services and Agriculture committees.
Thomas Hawley Tuberville, a Republican first elected in 2020, brought his two-decade coaching career to the Senate after leading Auburn University to an undefeated 2004 season and serving as defensive coordinator at Texas Tech, Cincinnati, and Ole Miss. Before politics, Tuberville spent over 20 years as a college football head coach, establishing himself in higher education leadership. In the Senate he serves on the Armed Services, Agriculture, Veterans' Affairs, and HELP committees, focusing on military readiness and agricultural policy. Tuberville drew national attention during 2023-2024 by placing an unprecedented hold on hundreds of senior military promotions in protest of a Pentagon policy on reproductive care travel, a blockade he ultimately lifted in December 2023 after sustained bipartisan pressure. He is known as one of the Senate's most conservative members on defense and cultural issues, advocating for traditional military values.
