Yvette Diane Clarke, U.S. Representative for New York's 9th Congressional District, is a Democrat first elected in 2006 now serving her tenth term representing central Brooklyn including Flatbush, Crown Heights, Brownsville, and Sheepshead Bay. Daughter of Jamaican immigrants and former New York City Councilmember Una Clarke, she attended Oberlin College and Medgar Evers College before serving on the New York City Council. In the 119th Congress, Clarke serves as Ranking Member of the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee on Energy and Commerce and as Ranking Member of the Cybersecurity, Infrastructure Protection, and Security Technologies Subcommittee of the Homeland Security Committee. She chairs the Congressional Caribbean Caucus and focuses on cybersecurity, immigration, Caribbean diaspora issues, and healthcare.
